No one long distance company can be all things to all consumers, which is the reason we represent a number of companies. Our Planet Earth service represents the culmination of several years effort by Planet Earth Communications, using technology originally conceived and developed by Cognigen President Kevin Anderson. This service is being offered especially for clients who are comfortable using the internet to receive billing statements online, who have major credit (or debit) cards, and who would like to pay very low rates for long distance phone service.
Our carrier is IXC, a "carrier's carrier" offering an extensive worldwide fiber-optic network for calls originating in the 48 Continental US States. Information about your phone calls will be updated DAILY on a special password protected website which will be provided to you by PEC (Planet Earth Communications). Immediately on signup, you will be emailed your ID and password to view your calls online. Payment will be via a credit card you provide during the signup process. You will be billed only 6.9* or 7.9** cents per minute for interstate calls, and you will be billed our low listed rates for intrastate and international calls. Minimum usage is $10 per account for 6.9 cents/min plan, no minimum usage for 7.9 cents/min plan. If you do not wish to switch carrier, you may sign up for dial-around service only with flat 8.9 cents/min interstate rate, same low intrastate and international rates as 1+ service provides, and no any fees or minimum usage requirements. You may change your calling plan anytime online from your secure web site.
This is a traditional long distance phone service, rivaling the quality of AT&T, and, in our opinion, of better quality than service from MCI/Worldcom or Sprint. After you sign up for long distance service, you will also have the opportunity, if you wish, to obtain toll free (800/888/877) service from PEC at 7.9 cents per minute interstate rate (same intrastate rate as for 1+ service), with the same quality of service and daily online call detail reporting, and no monthly fee. After you've used Planet Earth long distance service for a week, you will wonder how you ever lived without it!
If you want to receive bills by mail or require project accounting codes we can recommend to choose PremierCom 7.5¢, Qwest residential or Qwest Q.Biz 6.9¢ commercial service instead. If you need calling card, we recommend AccuLinQ Calling Card that is also billed to credit card and has flat rate 9.9 cents/min, six second billing and low international rates or RoadTel 14.9 cpm monthly billed calling card.
